Hi. My name is Tracey (a.k.a. T.O. Weller), and I’m a writer. Yes, it’s time to claim it and say it out loud!
I used to say one day, as in: “one day, when I have the {time, money, energy, etc…}”. Does that sound familiar?
I used to beat myself up about it. Everyone has complicated lives and I could see others doing it, so why couldn’t I?
But really, it just wasn’t my time. There were other things I had to do, lessons to be learned and journeys to be taken.
Now it is my time, and no one can tell me it’s too late.
What’s “Late” Anyway?
When I was studying for my degree in English Literature, I always wanted to know two things: when the author first got published and when they were born. Then I’d do the math. I still do it today. Why? Because I seek reassurance that I still have time: if “so-and-so” was first published when they were 40+ or even 50+, then I still have time.
I’m not too late.
But being “late” or “too late” … it’s all relative. Especially today. Now, more than ever, we can choose to pursue our dream at any age and make it happen. It really is in our hands, and more and more people are proving it can be done.
It’s time to build a writing life!
There are so many ways to do that now.
Whether you choose to make it a hobby or you want to build a second or third career out of it, the Internet and publishing technologies have set the stage for us in ways we could never have imagined 30 or 40 years ago.
Does it mean that it’s easier? No. But I truly believe … I know … that there is a way. I’ve seen it and I’m going to do it!
That’s where this blog comes in. I’ll explore and share:
- How others are finding their success,
- Social media & author platform building,
- Technology—the good, the bad, and the ugly,
- The new world of publishing,
- Craft and process, and
- As many words of inspiration as possible!
